SEAL-SOLID

PROGRAM . . . . . . . . . .

SEAL-SOLID description

:: Energy Efficient Homes for Today’s Lifestyle

Today’s homeowners are facing greater financial and environmental challenges than any generation in American history. Higher demand and limited distribution of oil have sharply increased energy costs. Coupled with the growing environmental challenges of Global Warming, these conditions have savvy homebuyers seeking ways to save money while they help to reverse the damage to our atmosphere.

Demilec (USA), Chase Mortgage and GWS have responded by creating the SEAL-SOLID program, which lowers mortgage costs while boosting homes’ energy efficiency. By emphasizing superior products like Demilec’s SEALECTION® 500— a unique spray foam insulation — SEAL-SOLID® Expanded Energy Conservation Mortgages offer homebuyers an easy, affordable and convenient option to traditional financing, as well as a welcome solution to high energy bills and environmental concerns. Based on built-in savings from products like SEALECTION® 500, average consumers can show a positive cash flow immediately because their monthly utility bills may fall by as much as 60%.

SEAL-SOLID standards and ratings

:: SEAL-SOLID is for Homeowners

SEAL-SOLID Expanded Energy Conservation program mandates a level of energy efficiency more stringent than those currently in place for the Energy Star program. This allows homebuyers to make an investment in energy smart designs, such as the closed attic assembly using Demilec’s spray foam insulation SEALECTION™500, for the benefit of future generations with little or no up front costs.

The SEAL-SOLID standards enable homeowners to be confident in the comfort and efficiency of their home by enacting a system that utilizes the Residential Energy Services Network’s (RESNET), Home Energy Rating System (HERS), strict standards in performance, multiple onsite inspections and a network of Authorized Contractors properly trained to perform the work. The energy performance of these homes installed with SEALECTION™500 spray foam insulation is recognized by Chase Bank as an investment into the future savings on energy bills. SEAL-SOLID Expanded Energy Conservation Mortgage helps homebuyers take advantage of the cost-savings and health benefits offered by high energy-efficient building products. These mortgages are available throughout the United States.

Home Energy Ratings offer a standardized method for measuring the energy efficiency of a home in both new and existing construction. The Rating takes into consideration factors such as shading, window quality and size, and efficiency of utilities all of which affect the total heating and cooling load of a home. These results are confirmed with two separate inspections to confirm the existence and quality of the installation of any specified energy efficient tool.

:: SEAL-SOLID is for Builders

SEAL-SOLID offers builders a way to serve their customers better by offering homes that feature the benefits of top-rated energy-efficient systems. The program gives them the chance to become the builder-of-choice for a wider variety of consumers and to qualify for as much as $2,000 in tax credits. That means lower costs, higher returns and the satisfaction of being a partner in environmental protection.

The HERS index is based on a 100 point scale with a score of 100 being equivalent to code compliance with the base load 2004 International Energy Conservation Code. A single point reduction is a 1% reduction in energy consumption as compared to the base home. To take advantage of Energy Policy Act of 2005 and tax credits, builders need to obtain a HERS rating for the home and undergo two inspections by a Certified HERS Rater.
